“Do what you love. That simple.”
“Do what you love. That simple.” ~ Be True Rich: 3 Simple Keys To Live Your Good Life Now!
Sometimes we forget how easy it truly is to live a good life.
Our brains can handle complicated; so, we create complicated, but the keys, the solutions are usually quite simple, and the biggest, overarching answer is to do what you love.
Sometimes we start to believe that we should be doing a whole bunch of other stuff, and that’s fine, but if you want to get into the ease of The Flow where the Universe supports your every endeavor, then: do what you love.
Lately, I’v
e been adding more and more music to my life. I LOVE music. I am doing what I love.
I am singing and writing songs and performing.
Yes, it takes time and commitment, but it brings me great joy.
AND, I’ve noticed that the more music I incorporate into my life, the easier EVERYTHING becomes.
More people seem to be spontaneously buying things from me over the internet. More potential clients are reaching out to me to ask for help.
Sometimes we get into a trap of thinking we need to accomplish certain things in realms we do not love before we can indulge in the “luxury” of spending our time doing the things we love.
That’s backwards.
You will accomplish much more in all areas of your life when you are doing what you love.
So, just do it.
This concept is a central theme of my book Be True Rich in which I define rich as “the amount of love you have in and for your life.” The more love you have for your life (by doing what you love), the richer you are – in EVERY way!
What are some things you love to do that you’ve not been allowing into your life? What are some steps you can take TODAY to start incorporating them into the fabric of your life?
Law of Attraction Tip: The more time you spend doing what you love, the more you will attract more things you love into your life.
Flower Tip: Have the flowers you love around you.
Simple.
Here’s a little video that PBS put together using snippets of Bob Ross’s shows and modern technology to create a song based on his philosophy. Take this beautiful, uplifting message about painting, and apply it to any/all areas of your life. “This is your world, you are the creator!”

Have Faith in Your Journey — Reflections from My Recent Travels
I just returned home to the Hamptons after spending a week in North Carolina visiting my folks.
My son and I drove and spent a fair amount of time on the road. I treasure these long expanses of uninterrupted time together. We chat and sing and just sit together quietly and think.
As I was driving home, the weather was foggy and drippy. Often the visibility was less than a tenth of a mile. Still, the traffic moved well, and I felt safe and comfortable the whole way.
I couldn’t see the road very far ahead of me.
Perhaps I should have been afraid, but I wasn’t.
Because I have Faith.
I have Faith in the road ahead and the car I drive. I have faith that the road is there, and that it is passable.
I don’t have to see the whole road to move forward. Even on the sunniest, clearest day on the flattest, straightest bit of highway, I cannot see all the way to my destination and yet I embark on my voyage.
This idea of the faith in the support of the road systems popped into my thinking as I was crossing the beautiful Delaware bridge in the fog. I could not see the whole bridge. I could not see across the river. I could not see the top of the bridge. It was shrouded in fog.
Still, all of us travelers (and the highway was full and busy and moving well) moved on at normal speed. No one stopped short or pulled over to the side of the road. Even in the fog, we all continued forward.
I didn’t have my camera ready at the Delaware bridge to snap a photo, but the conditions were pretty similar when we came to the Verrazano bridge (see photos). And, all of us travelers moved easily across that bridge, too.
It is a great metaphor for the journey of life.
Have faith in the support you need as you proceed. Continue forward in the direction of your dreams and desires. Even when you cannot see what the next step is (the bridge) or what is on the other side.
Your bridge is there. Your “other side” is there – but only if you keep moving forward. You will never be able to see all the bits of your journey from your starting point. Each bit will only be revealed as you move forward.
So, set your internal GPS, and keep moving forward.
Law of Attraction tip:
Trust all the roads and bridges of your life to be exactly as you need them to be to get to your desired destinations.
Daffodils reflect this energy. They often poke up through the ground through the cold snow when there is no sign of spring, yet they trust in the warmth that is to come. Spring always comes. Let the daffodils remind you that the warmth and sunlight you seek is coming, too (no matter how things appear at the moment).
Love and Success,
Katherine.

The Flu and You
Your body’s natural state is pure, radiant health. That’s the state your body and its cell are programmed to be. Your body knows what to do to be healthy. You just have to let it do its business.
So, what can interfere? Your thoughts, your feelings, and your beliefs are the biggest, most powerful tools to remain in great health – or, to veer away from it.
In today’s word we have instant access to most everything that is going on around the world if we want it.
The news media is not really in the news business. They are in the profit-making business. They choose stories that people will watch over stories of greatest importance and relevance (to increase their ratings and their ad revenue). And, they know that fear sells – fear of illness, fear of bad weather, fear of war, fear of __________. The stronger, the scarier the fear, the more magnetic the newscast becomes.
So, we hear early about every case of flu. The news media tracks them and the flu’s progress.
Have you seen any of those newscasts? Did you start to feel fear? Did you start to believe in a sort of inevitability of your contracting the flu yourself? Did you start playing back your day and remembering all the sneezing you heard around you, the sniffling at the grocery checkout? Did you start to notice the slightest cough in the people around you? Be honest with yourself.
It does not have to be that way.
First, you really don’t have to watch the news all the time.
I stopped watching the news years and years ago, and my life is so much happier.
If you do watch the news, really start paying attention and asking yourself, “what is this news story’s relevance to me?”
Notice all the healthy people around you. Notice that (even if you do have the flu) your body functions miraculously and largely without any help from you. You blink and breathe. Your heart beats, oxygen is absorbed, food is digested. Water is absorbed… All of these functions occur without your assistance, many of them without even your awareness.
Your job to maintain great health is to celebrate the fantastic functioning of your body. Your job is to focus on health and strength and to trust the function of your body. Your job is to counteract any fear that you notice creeping in with love – LOVE your body and all it does for you. Honor your body by taking care of it.
At night and in the morning, you can set a tone for your overnight or daytime thoughts.
Try this at night: “Tonight as I sleep, I allow my body to reset itself into its natural state of radiant, perfect health.”
Try this in the morning: “I am amazed and delighted by all the complex functions my body manages for me without my awareness or direct participation. Thank you, body! I celebrate you!”
Law of Attraction Tip: You get more of what you focus on – focus on what you WANT in your body.
Flower Tip: People take flowers to sick people for a reason – they uplift, they remind you of the beauty and perfection of life. Be sure to have flowers in your environment and take time to appreciate them and their beauty.
Love and Light,
Katherine
P.S. I go into much more detail in my new book Be True Rich about the power of your last thoughts of the day and your first thoughts in the morning and how to set yourself up well with both. www.BeTrueRich.com

What to do with detractors?
One thing I rediscover every time I launch something new (like my new book) is when you stand up and say something, when you stand for something, you are going to rile some people up and ruffle some feathers.
You will hear from people who disagree and who even resent your message.
So, what do you do with detractors?
First, you need to understand what is going on for your detractor.
Their feathers are ruffled because you are striking a raw nerve. On a deep level they may even agree with your message, but it challenges them and their status quo.
Feathers cannot get ruffled if there is not a ruffle already there.
For instance, if you write a book called “Hey, You! Get Off Your Butt and Get In Shape” you can only offend a person who already feels bad about not being in shape inside. Someone who does not feel that way and feel bad about feeling out of shape wouldn’t be bothered.
The good news about ruffling feathers is that it means that you are really standing for something, and that is excellent. So many people go through their lives being very careful not to upset any apple carts, and they thus don’t do anything of real significance.
So, congratulations on taking a stand. YAY, you!
So, what do you do with those ruffled feathers?
Easy: you love the ruffled feathers and honor them for who they are, where they are.
You don’t need to try to change their mind or “fix” them or convince them. Let them be.
Say, “thank you,” and move on.
Engaging with ruffled feathers will get you and the feathers nowhere fast.
That is not to say to never engage in real discussion about your topic.
Real discussion, even heated discussion is not the same as ruffled feathers.
So, with our get-off-your-butt book example, if someone approaches you and says, “How dare you tell me I need to get off my butt,” then that is an example of ruffled feathers.
You can simply say, “I am sorry you feel offended by my title. Thank you for letting me know.” And, move on.
On the other hand, if someone seems genuinely interested and asks, “I am curious, why did you choose such a confronting title for your book, I am sure it must be offending a lot of people. What is your reasoning?” Then, that is an invitation to possibly have a real discussion about your intention.
Ruffled feathers are just telling you that you are wrong and have done something bad against them.
Interested parties are expressing genuine curiosity and interest.
Sometimes ruffled feathers will disguise their comments in a wording of genuine interest, and I have made the mistake of trying to engage with them a few times, but quickly you realize you are dealing with ruffled feathers.
The moment you realize, just stop engaging.
A person whose feathers have been ruffled may turn into a person who is genuinely interested in your topic, but they need to work through some of their own stuff first. So, just let them do it.
Unless the person says something like, “Wow! Your book title really triggered something inside me, and I can feel anger boiling up inside me, would you please help me find another way to look at what you are offering?” then that is not your job.
Remember the first rule of helping people is that they have to ask for your help.
Someone who is attacking you is too triggered at the moment to have a genuine engagement, that person is playing a pretend game and hiding behind a facade of anger.
If you handle the situation lovingly, the person may remember that when they calm down, and if there is any sort of openness, they may come back for a different kind of engagement.
Maybe
not… just be willing to let it go and let it be. It is OK for people to be angry. That really is none of your business.
Law of Attraction Tip: Remember: what people think of you is none of your business. Your job is to be the best version of yourself that you can be and to focus on what you want (angry people in your face is probably not what you want); so, focus your time and energy on the peace and love that surrounds you.
Flower Tip: When you are in a situation that seems difficult, Lilies of the Valley can help you remember that there is beauty and light and love all times and everywhere.
Love and Light,
Katherine.

Cool Mind Experiment
I’m reading The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol.
It is all about the power of your thoughts — which you KNOW I agree are where our true power is.
I came across a “power of mind” experiment or “mind game” that sounded so cool and easy that I HAD TO try it out.
You balance a piece of paper on a needle and “direct” it to spin in the direction you choose. Then, switch.
The results were spectacular when I did it.
Here’s how:
- Make a 3 x 3 inch square of light-weight paper.
- Fold it corner to corner. Unfold. Then, fold it opposite corner to corner. Unfold again. Now the paper makes a little, flat pyramid shape.
- Get a fine needle and figure out a way to secure it upright. (I put my in the top of a sunscreen bottle.)
- Balance the folded paper on the needle with the needle in the top of the pyramid.
- Place your hands above the pyramid in such a way that your hands are close to the paper but leaving just enough room for it to spin freely.
- Start with the pyramid still.
- Imagine (or direct) it to spin clockwise. Keep your focus on that idea until it does.
- Imagine (or direct) it to spin counterclockwise.
Let me know how it goes for you.
At first, I had to stop it myself between directions. Then, with practice, I could have it stop and go the other way.
Be careful not to have the paper in a draft or to move your hands while you are doing this.
NOW: imagine if you can do THIS with your thoughts… what else is possible?
Love and Success,
Katherine

Different Strategies for Different Times
The stories that are being shared during this season of presidential politics brought back to my mind a story my grandfather told many times.
It was during the Great Depression.
My grandfather was in college, studying engineering.
He had to leave school for a while to get a job to help support his family, but getting a job was not certain during that time.
He was determined to find a “good job,” but there were not many jobs – good or otherwise – to be found.
One morning, he saw an advertisement for a job at Fisher Body baling scrap metal. He decided to go for it.
As he was getting ready to go, his mother gave him advice: “tell them you are a college boy.”
Before the Depression, that would have meant something to prospective employers, but these were different times, and his father had a different perspective.
He pulled my grandfather aside and said: “look as big and strong and stupid as you can.” My grandfather decided to take his advice. So, he layered lots of sweaters under his coat to look as big and strong as he could, and off he went.
When he arrived, he found a line of eager applicants wrapping around the block.
At this point when he would tell the story, my grandfather would stand up and point to the molding around the floor, and he would demonstrate how he stood with his heels resting on the top of the molding, with his arms out to his side the way a muscle-bound man stands, and he’d pull a hat a little down over his face and put a toothpick in his mouth to demonstrate how he stood to stand out from the crowd.
He looked as big and strong and stupid as was possible for him.
So many people would apply for ONE job at that time, that you really had to stand out from the crowd, you couldn’t rely the usual job-finding strategies.
When the plant manager came out, he scanned down the LONG line of people and didn’t speak to a soul but pointed at a few, and said, “You and you and you – come with me.” And, that was it.
My grandfather got that much-needed job that way. He would tell of the grueling physical labor and how he used his engineering and physics mind to leverage his strength to get the job done.
Baling scrap metal. Pretty tough work.
The point of sharing this story is that times change, and the effective way to get a job or attract a client changes as well.
What worked a couple years ago so well for so many does not necessarily work now.
To be successful, you have to adapt to find the best way to be what people really want and need.
Though my grandfather’s college smarts helped him to be a great employee, what the employer wanted was a strapping strong man.
What does that mean today?
It means, the world is changing and evolving at an EXTREMELY rapid pace these days.
What worked a couple years ago CANNOT work today.
It is effectively a different world now.
What have you done lately to continue to evolve and adapt?
Are you following old “roadmaps to success” but are not finding the success you desire?
Law of Attraction Tip:
Follow the lead of my grandfather and have faith and confidence that YOU will get what you want, even when the odds may “seem” to be stacked against you. See yourself getting what you want, and follow inspired action to get there. (My grandfather didn’t sit at home dreaming about getting a job and tweaking his resume. He got out there where the job was and took action on the inspired suggestion of his father to land the job that got his family through the Depression and gave him great insight into the mind and concerns of the on-the-floor labor force which served him very well in his later career as a railroad executive and labor contract negotiator – but that’s a story for another time..)
Love and Success,
Katherine

Do You Want It Enough??
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about “wanting it enough.”
I’ve set some big goals for myself, and part of getting there is to be sure I want it enough.
Recently, I came across a small example of how “wanting it enough” makes all the difference.
I was working on the beach and took a break to take a dip in the water.
It was nice and warm under my beach umbrella, and the cool water was a shock. I almost didn’t go past my ankles and almost turned around and came back out. Then I realized what a perfect example of “wanting it enough” this was. If I did want it, I could just go for it.
The part of me already in the water felt good, but that line between being in the water and still being all warm from sitting in the sun was tricky.
When I focused on my feet and legs and ankles that were already in the water rather than the “line of shock,” it became easier.
I thought about my little reason to go into the water: to be refreshed, to have the experience of going in the water today.
If my son were in trouble in the water, I would not have noticed the water temperature as I plunged in (that would definitely have been “wanting it enough”), that reason TO go in the water would have outweighed just about any reason I can fathom.
If I knew that plunging in icy water would get me a dime, I probably would pass: not compelling enough.
If there were a pile of gold coins or a treasured heirloom down there, I probably would not let the water temperature stop me. (I might THINK about it, but I wouldn’t let it stop me.)
Different goals, desires, etc. motivate us differently.
If you are having trouble meeting a goal, think about your “WHY” – why you are going after the goal and it is truly compelling enough to get you past the discomfort of change (that “line of shock”).
Think about goals you’ve had that you haven’t met and compare them with the goals you HAVE met. Think about what motivated you in each.
P.S. The day I wrote about was a calm-sea day. The next day I was at the beach and the waves were big and beautiful and enticing. I went in just a bit and then WHOOSH, a big wave came. I had no choice but get wet THEN. I could dive through, try to ride it, or get tumbled, but “taking it slowly” was NOT an option – nor was staying dry. AND, I didn’t even notice the temperature, I was so thrilled by the moment.
I realized how this really furthers the metaphor of wanting it enough – because when you take baby steps toward your goal, you feel each little bit of change, but when you plunge into the big waves sometimes you are swimming before you notice.
Law of Attraction Tip:
Focus on what you want and how to get it, make it juicy and exciting and enticing and when possible “take the plunge” and just go for it in a way that does not allow you to think and turn back.
Love and Success,
Katherine

Divine Lessons from the Lotus Flowers
I recently returned from a fabulous business retreat in Cary, NC.
We stayed at the Umstead Spa which is right on the edge of the beautiful SAS campus. In fact, I could not tell where one ended and the other began.
Right behind the hotel was a small lake with a walking path where I went on the breaks in our program.
At one end of the lake was a Lotus patch.
On the first day, there were huge Lotus buds just about to bloom.
On the second day, sure enough, several of the Lotus had burst open, and I snapped these pictures.
The energy of Lotus flowers reminds you of your connection to the Divine, to Source, to God, to the Great Spirit, to Allah — however you think of the Divine Essence, THAT is what the Lotus flowers are all about.
It is the energy of the spark of life and light within us all that the Lotus blossoms exude, sending it forth to remind you that you are not separate from this Divine energy of God, you are truly Divine. We are all connected in our Divinity.

Think of the journey a Lotus flower takes from seed to Divine blossoming.
It starts as a seed nestled in the soft mud at the bottom of pond.
From there, it sprouts forth – growing up and growing roots deep into the mud.
The stem grows with a tightly closed bud on top. It rises up through the mud and the muddy, murky water.
Then, it bursts into the sunlight above the water.
The bud swells on top of the stem. It expands and grows larger and larger, finally bursting into full bloom.
The beautiful lotus flower stands above the muddy water, not sullied by the mud from which it grew.
So, what is a lesson you can learn from the Lotus flower?
Just like the lotus, you can grow up and out of your own muddy surroundings that are the baggage and sufferings and wounds of your life experience.
You may suffer, but you always have the potential of reconnecting with and expressing your own Divinity in your unique blossoming.
Law of Attraction Tip:
Constantly reach for your own inner beauty and Divinity, and leave the mud far behind.
Love and Light and Success to you,
Katherine

Where is God in all this?
When I was a little girl, I felt like there was a tug-of-war for my soul.
I was raised in the Bible belt in a Christian family. Our nuclear family was Episcopalian. (We were definitely in the minority in my hometown.)
Every other family-units in our family attended different Protestant churches – Southern Baptist, Church of Christ, Methodist, etc., and they would tell me (whispering it in my ear as I went to sleep so that my parents did not overhear) that if I did not “convert” to their brand of believing that I would “burn in Hell for all eternity.”
Nice, huh?
I was confused and scared by their words.
Who was right? Who would burn in Hell? Would it be me?
Eventually, it put me off organized religion and left me doubting God.
Through the years, I came to my own understanding of God and The Divine though I still felt uncomfortable with using the word “God.” It reminded me too much of the tugging over my soul, of the judgmental, vengeful God who never resonated for me.
Recently, my mentor had me read a book that is written entirely from the perspective of God, and I realized how silly I’ve been.
I usually have just substituted the word “Source” or “Universe” for “God” in my mind, but in this book it was just EVERYwhere – too much substituting; so, I had to settle down and just read it as written.
And, I realized how wise the book is, meaning: how in alignment it is with MY world view (and the Law of Attraction), and the book is a Christian book.
I realized that the core of Christianity is not what was tugging over my soul it was the interpretations of several people (who represent a LOT of people who feel that way).
We may all mean slightly different things when we refer to God, but I believe there’s a core of essential meaning.
God is the Power, the Force, the Creator, the Organizer, the Source of All-There-Is. I also believe God is equally present in all things at all times.
So, I am reclaiming the name of God in my vocabulary.
I still do not consider myself a Christian – though, since that was the church I was raised in, it is the religion I understand the best. I am SURE that it forms part of the lens through which I view and understand the world – even when I do not intend for that to be true.
I have to admit that “God” does not yet trip easily off my tongue, but I am moving in that direction, working to remove the silly “charge” on the word.
I would love you to share your thoughts and experiences here in the comments.
THANKS!
LOA Tip: If you seek wisdom, don’t reject it because of its “cover.” Seek the deepest meaning always.
Love and Success,
Katherine.

A Gift of Money
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a special gift.
I can see money in places other people don’t.
Wouldn’t you like to have that gift? You CAN learn how!
Would you like to find more money in your life???
I have done corporate, foundation, and individual fundraising.
When I was at the National Gallery of Art doing corporate fundraising, for instance, I thought to look in the artworks themselves for sponsors.
We had a photography show coming up, and I noticed that there were some gorgeous photos of Cadillacs and Harley Davidsons. Then, I also noticed that many of the photographs were distinctively Polaroid.
Upon further investigation, it turned out that this particular artist had used a LOT of cutting-edge Polaroid technology and had even worked closely with the Polaroid product development team.
When we approached Polaroid to sponsor the show, their response was “what took you so long?” Polaroid did sponsor the show.
Looking in the artworks for sponsorship ideas is now commonplace, but at the time, it was truly innovative.
I also help my clients “see” where their money is, and I would like to share a bit more about this gift with you on a special call.
I can help you see where your money is. It is here NOW, you just need to learn how to “see” it.
Money should be as plentiful and natural in your life as leaves growing on trees.
Money should flow as freely as rain in a summer storm.
Is that YOUR experience??
